Love Letter number 17

“Cher inconnu,
Ink on paper
“Cher inconnu,
I hope you’re doing well.
Tell me, what do you do?
It’s a difficult thing, getting to know someone, isn’t it? Such a complex game, meeting another person.
How do you feel about other people? To be honest,
I often find myself disliking many of them.
What a judgmental character I might be. Don’t put me aside as superficial, please— isn’t it a very human thing,
this urge to filter, to decide as quickly as possible whether someone is to be liked? Perhaps I expect too much At what moment will this letter slip from your mind? And when it does, will you notice its absence?
Maybe too many thoughts at once I should just drop it. Drop it like it’s hot. Let's start from the top.
How are you? Would you answer me?
Yours truly,
with a certain hesitation towards humanity,
But perhaps l'll make an exception for you.”

Love Letter number 60

“What I expect from love
It must feel warm without ever turning damp
It needs to be impulsive and graceful
It brings an energising meaning to taking a walk
It might be surprising but it feels natural
It needs to look sophisticated but not tried to hard
It has to be safe but not consistent
It excites but doesn't worry
It's different to the love you know
Love comes in small portions”
